Kalispell's Local Painting and Staining Company
Great Northern Solutions is the painting contractor Flathead Valley homeowners call when they want work done right the first time. From interior painting to log siding staining, our crew treats every property like it's the only job on the schedule.
Our Story: Built in Kalispell, Grown Across the Valley
Great Northern Solutions started in 2020 with a straightforward idea: painting and staining services should be efficient, fairly priced, and easy to trust. Robert Conte built the company on that promise, and it still guides every estimate, every prep step, and every finish coat we deliver.
What began as a small residential painting operation in Kalispell has grown into a full-service painting company serving homeowners and businesses across the Greater Flathead Valley. That growth came from word of mouth, repeat customers, and a reputation for showing up when we say we will.
Today our team handles everything from a single-room refresh to a multi-building commercial project, without cutting corners on either end of that range.
The Values Behind Every Paint Job
Our mission is simple: deliver high-quality, efficient, affordable, and trustworthy painting and staining solutions that protect and transform Montana properties. Every decision we make on a job site traces back to a short list of principles.
- Quality: Premium paints, proper prep, and finish work that holds up to Montana winters
- Affordability: Fair, competitive pricing on every residential and commercial painting services quote
- Trust: Clear communication before, during, and after the project
- Reliability: We arrive on schedule and finish when we say we will
- Efficiency: A streamlined process that minimizes disruption to your home or business
- Craftsmanship: Clean lines on trim painting, baseboard painting, and every detail in between
What Sets Our Painting Company Apart
Plenty of painters can roll on a coat of color. Fewer understand what a Flathead Valley winter does to exterior siding, a cedar fence, or an unprotected deck. That local knowledge shapes how we prep, prime, and finish every surface.
We back that knowledge with a level of professionalism our clients notice from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
Montana Climate Expertise
We choose weather resistant painting products and application methods built for freeze and thaw cycles, heavy UV exposure, and the moisture that causes rot and mold on Kalispell-area homes.
On-Time, Every Time
Our crews show up when scheduled and communicate honestly about timelines, so your project doesn't stretch on longer than it should.
Craftsmanship That Lasts
From wall painting and ceiling painting to cabinet refinishing and metal railing painting, our finish work is built to look good for years, not just for the walkthrough.
How We Approach Every Project, From Consult to Completion
Every job, whether it's a kitchen cabinet painting update or a full exterior house painting project, follows the same four-step process.
- 01
Consultation and Estimate
We walk the property, talk through your goals, and provide a detailed painting estimate with no surprise line items later.
- 02
Prep and Protection
We handle surface cleaning, patching, sanding, and pressure washing so paint and stain adhere properly and last longer.
- 03
Application
Our professional painters apply primers, paints, or stains using products chosen for the surface, whether that's drywall, wood trim staining, siding, or a metal gate.
- 04
Final Walkthrough
We inspect every surface with you before we call the job done, so you know exactly what you're getting before we pack up.
Proud to Serve Homeowners and Businesses Across the Flathead Valley
Kalispell and the surrounding communities, from Whitefish and Bigfork to Columbia Falls and Polson, are a mix of family homes, log cabins, and working businesses along Highway 93 and the shores of Flathead Lake. We built our service list around that mix.
Homeowners come to us for interior house painting during the winter months, deck restaining before summer, and fence sealing to protect wood from snow and moisture. Local business owners rely on us for commercial painting services that keep storefronts and buildings looking sharp with minimal downtime.
Whichever side of that list you're on, you get the same crew, the same materials, and the same attention to detail.
