What Our Exterior House Painting Service Covers
Great Northern Solutions handles every surface on the outside of your property, not just the easy parts. We provide residential and commercial exterior painting services, starting with a full assessment of your siding, trim, and any wood or metal features that need attention, all to protect your investment while giving your property a fresh, finished look.
Our exterior house painting services include full prep work, premium materials, and finish coats designed to hold up against Kalispell's freeze/thaw cycles and intense summer sun. Here's what's typically included in a project:
- Pressure washing to remove dirt, mildew, and loose paint
- Scraping, sanding, and patching damaged siding or trim
- Weather resistant painting primers applied to bare or repaired areas
- Siding painting across wood, vinyl, or fiber cement exteriors
- Exterior trim painting for eaves, fascia, window frames, and doors
- Premium exterior paints matched to your color and sheen preferences
Our Exterior Painting Process, Start to Finish
We keep the process straightforward so you know exactly what to expect from the first call to the final walkthrough. Here's how a typical exterior painting project with Great Northern Solutions moves forward.
- 01
Schedule Your Estimate
Call or request a quote online, and we'll set up a time to walk your property, measure surfaces, and talk through your goals, whether that's a full repaint or a targeted trim and siding refresh.
- 02
Wash and Prep the Surfaces
Our crew pressure washes siding, trim, and eaves to strip away dirt, mildew, and chalking paint. We scrape, sand, and patch any damaged spots so the new coat has a clean, solid surface to bond to.
- 03
Prime and Paint
We apply weather resistant primers to bare wood or repaired sections, then finish with premium exterior paint formulated to handle Montana's UV exposure, moisture, and temperature swings.
- 04
Walk Through and Sign Off
Once the final coat cures, we walk the property with you to check every surface up close. We won't consider the job done until you're satisfied with the coverage, lines, and finish.
Weather Resistant Painting for Flathead Valley Homes
Homes around Kalispell, Whitefish, and Bigfork face conditions that most standard paint jobs simply can't handle. Sub-zero winters, heavy snow load, intense summer UV, and rapid freeze/thaw cycles all attack exterior surfaces year after year, which is why we treat weather resistance as a core part of every project, not an upgrade.
We select primers and topcoats rated for the specific stresses your property faces, whether that's a log home near Trego exposed to constant moisture or a Kalispell subdivision home baking under long summer days. Local climate factors we address include:
- UV degradation that fades and chalks standard paint finishes
- Freeze/thaw cycles that crack and lift poorly adhered coatings
- Moisture intrusion around eaves, trim, and siding seams
- Snow load and ice buildup along rooflines and fascia boards
- Wildfire smoke residue that dulls exterior surfaces over a season
- Wood rot and mold risk on shaded or north-facing siding
Why Flathead Valley Homeowners Choose Great Northern Solutions
Homeowners across the Flathead Valley want a painting contractor who shows up when promised and delivers a finish that actually lasts through a Montana winter. Here's what sets our exterior painting apart.
Local Climate Expertise
We've built our exterior process specifically around Montana conditions, from UV exposure in Polson to moisture around Lakeside, so your paint job is matched to where you actually live.
Full Prep, Every Time
We never skip pressure washing, scraping, or priming to save time. A properly prepped surface is the difference between a paint job that lasts two years and one that lasts ten.
Reliable Communication
As your painting company, we schedule clearly, arrive on time, and keep you updated throughout the project so there are no surprises about timeline or scope.
Signs It's Time to Schedule Exterior Painting
Exterior paint doesn't fail all at once. It shows warning signs long before problems become expensive, and catching them early keeps repair costs down.
- Paint that's chalking, fading, or looks flat instead of glossy
- Visible peeling, cracking, or bubbling on siding or trim
- Wood trim that feels soft or shows early rot
- Caulking that's cracked or pulled away around windows and doors
- Water stains or streaking below gutters and downspouts
- It's been 5 or more years since your last full exterior repaint
